Yikes! I haven't realized how long it has been since my last update until today. I've had so much going on here lately, that my mind tends to be all over the place. Hopefully I will be able to catch up on blogging tomorrow, or some time soon. Happy Tuesday!

Rest In Peace

RIP: Uncle Jimmy

My uncle passed away earlier this evening after fighting a long battle against cancer. His daughter and wife both told him bye and that they loved him. Once he heard that, he closed his eyes and passed away. I'm glad he passed away peacefully and is no longer in pain. It still hasn't sunk in that he's gone, but I know it's going to take time.

I live in North Carolina, so a lot of people automatically assume that I like the Carolina Panthers, but that's far from the case!

I'm a DALLAS COWBOYS fan!

I was born to cheer on the Dallas Cowboys, literally. I remember my father dressing me up in DC clothing and going trick-or-treat as a Cowboys cheerleader for Halloween. As I've grown older and able to understand the game of football, I've grown even more in love with the Cowboys and I can't see myself cheering on anyone else. My family will bleed blue and silver til the day we die.

When I met my boyfriend, he was slowly going to the dark side (becoming a Steelers fan). However, I brought him back over to the good side and now he loves the Cowboys!

We have so much stuff that we eventually ran out of space and had to add on a room, which is now dedicated to anything and everything that deals with the Dallas Cowboys. Yes, we're very obsessed.

  I'm just not good when it comes to making blog updates. My life is so hetic and busy right now, I just don't even think about getting on here, so I apologize! Hopefully things will start slowing down soon before I run out of energy.

Bring On Football Season

It's almost time for football!

I'm extra excited this year for college football due to the fact that I'm going to the West Virginia University vs. Louisiana State University game. My grandpaw being able to attend the game with me is going to make it even more special, especially since he's had a lot of health issues here lately and hasn't been able to go to a game with me or do a whole lot of anything.

Who will I be pulling for? West Virginia of course! The game isn't until September, but everything is pretty much ready to go. The only thing I have left to do is to get some of the cute, collegiate clothing that Victoria Secret has.

Hello Diet

Wow, I have no idea why I have been eating so much here lately. I just can't stop myself from grabbing loads of junk food, especially when it comes to the Snicker candy bars and blueberry muffins. I've worked so hard the past few years to get where I'm at today and I just don't think all the junk food is worth going back to where I was at before. With that being said, I'm definitely determined to get back on the right track. Bring on the diet, no carb foods, and exercising!



WILW: SEMPER FI

I've been slacking here lately with updating my blog, but between work and my cousin coming home from Afghanistan, I've been extremely busy. With that said, this week for WILW is all about my cousin!

We drove down to Camp Lejeune last Thursday to watch him and his fellow Marines fly in. Despite the fact that it felt like it was taking forever to get there and for him to arrive back on base, it was definitely well worth it when we saw him step foot back onto American soil.

He's in the 3/9 battalion, which is also known as one of the infantry battalions.

This would be my cousin with his lovely wife. I must admit, military wives are one of the strongest group of people I have ever met.

Then it was finally my turn to get a hug!

Beach Trip

I wish I could go back to last weekend when I was able to have a mini vacation by visiting my cousin's wife at Camp Lejeune, then taking a drive to the beach where we spent most of our time. The weather was absolutely perfect, it wasn't too hot or humid.

Being able to relax with loved ones is always a great way to spend a weekend. Not to mention, being at the beach makes it even better. I love it!

After a wonderful weekend with everyone, it ended with a beautiful sunset. Beach sunsets never fail to amaze me, I just can't get enough.

Hired

I was recently hired to work at the Sheriff's Office on Monday and couldn't be more happy about it. I love law and anything that has to do with it, so I decided it would be a good idea to apply and see what happens since none of the law offices around here are hiring at the moment. That's okay though, I get my own office and I'm able to decorate it. Not to mention, everyone is extremely nice and more than willing to help out if I need them to.

As far as the office decorating goes, I've already bought a few little things. However, I'm kind of stuck on where I can get some more things. Do you ladies have any good ideas on where I can get some cute, monogram items?

Bring On The Weekend

I'm going to the mountains again this weekend with my family and boyfriend. It's going to be pretty warm, but at least it won't be snowing like it was last time.

Due to the fact that it was cold and snowing the last time we went, I was unable to show off my fishing skills. I'm hoping I'll catch a bunch of fish, that way, I can show all the guys that girls can be just as good at fishing. Not to mention, I'm beyond excited to use my pink fishing pole!

Just in case I'm not able to get online before we go on our little mini vacation, I want to wish everyone a wonderful weekend. It's going to be gorgeous in North Carolina, hopefully it will be just as gorgeous in other states. Happy Thursday!

Tuesday Tunes

After having a long weekend, I almost forgot it was Tuesday. I was sitting here thinking it was Wednesday or Thursday, but I think I'm getting back on the right track when it comes to the correct days.

My grandfather has a very important doctor appointment this evening. Five years ago, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, then had to go through surgery and all kinds of treatment. It was well worth it though, because he eventually became cancer free. However, after going to a check up a week or two ago, his prostate number is up a little bit when it shouldn't be since he doesn't have a prostate. I'm hoping and praying for good news.

Decisions, Decisions

It seems just like yesterday that my best friend found out that she's having a baby boy. Her baby shower is getting closer and closer, but I'm having trouble when it comes to making a decision.

She's a huge Georgia Bulldog fan and decorating the baby room with Georgia stuff, I thought it would be a neat idea to make a gift basket filled with a bunch of Georgia goodies. With that being said, I would like some opinions on which option I should go with in order to finish up the gift basket. Both options consist of baby wipe case and a burp cloth, I just don't know which one would be better.

Although I'm not a huge American Idol fan, I'm still more than happy to see that our good ole' North Carolina boy, Scotty McCreery, won!

 

 

Monday Rambles

Daisy Mae is having surgery (she's getting spayed) at 8 o'clock in the morning and I'm extremely nervous. I dread dropping her off in the morning, but luckily I will be able to go and pick her up that evening.

Due to the fact that I feel really bad for making her go through the surgery, although it's for her own good, I'm going to buy her a brand new Lilly Pulitzer collar and leash.

I Confess

 

I confess that I have no desire to work today since the weather is so beautiful!

I confess that I'm hoping and praying that my boss will let me off this weekend, so I can go visit my boyfriend in Benson, North Carolina.

I confess that other than wanting to see my boyfriend, I just want to show off all my accomplishments to his parents and rub it in their face, since they said I would never amount to anything. Well guess what? I have a job, a new car, finished undergraduate school, and I'm on my way to law school.

I confess that I'm obsessed with extreme couponing, but I honestly don't care, because it's saving me loads of money and no, I'm not one of the crazy people you see on the television show. If I don't use the product, I'm not buying it.

I confess that I'm worried about Daisy Mae getting her surgery done next week, but she needs to get fixed so we don't have random puppies running around.

WILW

I'm loving that all my hard work finally paid off and I officially graduated undergraduate school. Class of 2011!

I'm loving that I'm going to West Virginia University School of Law, which has been my dream school since I was a little girl.

I'm loving how supportive my dad, grandparents, and boyfriend are of me wanting to further my education as much as possible.

I'm loving that some of my family who are in the Marines, will be coming home from Afghanistan in a little over a month. SEMPER FI!

Yay, I did it

Goodbye undergraduate school!

I graduated college and now it seems extremely weird knowing that I won't be going back to undergraduate school.

Now I'm West Virginia University School of Law bound. I'm still beyond excited and I honestly can't wait to see what the future holds for me. God has a plan for everyone and I definitely trust him with my future and what he has in store for me.

Yikes! I apologize for not posting for a week. I've been extremely busy with work and getting ready for graduation. Speaking of graduation, I graduate on Thursday and I'm beyond excited! Due to all my excitment, I have been singing in my car and bedroom. One would think that I'm performing for my own concert the way I get down with it, haha.
